Creative Destruction Lab - Atlantic

The Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) is a global nonprofit organization that delivers an objectives-based mentorship program for massively scalable, seed-stage, science and technology-based companies. CDL brings together experienced entrepreneurs, investors, and leading scientists worldwide to help startups sharpen objectives, prioritize time and resources, raise capital, and engage with experts working on the frontiers of research.

CDL-Atlantic offers two stream cohorts each year:

Prime Stream focuses on showcasing Atlantic Canadian businesses to the world, and is suited to coachable research teams and startups with differentiated technology and the potential for massive growth.

Oceans Stream focuses on disrupting the blue economy with digital technologies and sustainable solutions that have the potential to change the way we interact with the ocean.

Why Creative Destruction Lab?

Startups accepted into the CDL Program attend five objective-setting sessions over a 9-month period. The program is free of cost, does not require the startup to relocate, and CDL does not take any equity.

- Expert Advice: focused mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and technical advice from leading scientists, engineers and economists

- Hands-on Support: dedicated CDL staff members will guide you through the program and connect you with opportunities for business development support from MBA students

- Investment Possibilities: opportunities to raise capital from the CDL Network, including angels, VCs and syndicates

CDL-Atlantic Office is located in Halifax, at Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Management with team members spread across the Atlantic Provinces.
